Boulder’s Hidden Trails: A Guided eBike Adventure
If Boulder landmarks like the CU campus, Dushanbe Teahouse, and Chautauqua Park are on your list (and they should be), our Boulder Joyride covers those must-see gems.
But Boulder’s Hidden Trails isn’t about landmarks. It’s an authentic, eBike-centric, local Boulder experience — the kind of ride you’ll be talking about long after it’s over.
- See the Boulder you won't read about in guidebooks
- Experience Boulder's urban/nature interface to the fullest
- Ride 15-20 miles of Boulder’s trails and bike paths with JD, a longtime local
- Discover secret cut-throughs connecting neighborhoods with open space
- Enjoy scenic views (and prairie dogs!) from the edge of town
Already explored Boulder’s highlights (maybe on our Boulder Joyride)? Or perhaps you just want to skip the “tourist spots” and get straight to the joy of riding? Then Boulder’s Hidden Trails is your adventure.
This ride is less about sightseeing, more about flow: fewer stops, fewer crowds, more beauty, more ride time.
Your guide, longtime local and Chief Joyrider JD, has crafted a route that only a seasoned Boulderite would know — cruising on bike paths, trails, and tucked-away cut-throughs that weave between quiet neighborhoods and breathtaking open space, showing you the Boulder you won't read about in guidebooks.
It’s about surprise and delight, and discovering a Boulder that most visitors never see. Like most riders, when you're done with this route you'll find yourself saying: “If not for this, I never would have seen all of that.”
Gliding comfortably on your pedal-assisted eBike (with throttle!), you’ll see:
- The world-famous Boulder Creek Path
- CU-Boulder’s East Research Campus
- NOAA/NIST labs
- Serene, eclectic neighborhoods
- Spectacular open space
- One of Boulder’s most jaw-dropping viewpoints
- Prairie dogs (warning: they’re ridiculously cute!)
All rides start and end at the JD's Joyrides Bike Shack. The address is:
5151 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder 80303
We can be a little tricky to find as we’re actually off Range St. Google Maps will get you closest.
You’ll find our bike shack in the parking lot BEHIND Updog Day Care:
- From Arapahoe Ave turn north onto Range St
- Make a left into the second parking lot, just past Updog Day Care’s white fence.
- You'll see our bike shack in the back of the lot.
- Please park to the left, in front of the shack.
NOTE: We have plenty of parking. WE DO NOT HAVE RESTROOMS! Please plan accordingly. Thank you!
